Privacy Policy

Mauii Sauce ("Mauii Sauce," "we," "us," or "our") is a small-batch sauce maker based in Fargo, North Dakota. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit mauiisauces.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The Site currently has no online checkout — it hosts our story, recipes, a Find-Us list, a wholesale inquiry form, and a reorder portal for our wholesale partners.

1. Information we collect

Questions you send us. If you use the "ask us" form, we collect your name, email address, and your message so we can reply.

Wholesale inquiries. If you submit the wholesale form, we collect your business name, contact name, email, phone, and the details of your request.

Reorder portal (wholesale partners). If you're a wholesale partner using your personal reorder link, we keep your store's account details — store name, contact info, product SKUs, order history, and any standing (recurring) order and its schedule — so the portal can show your account and process reorders. Your reorder link contains your store's access code; treat it like a password and don't share it outside your business.

Community Kitchen recipes. If you submit a recipe, we collect the name and recipe content you provide. Recipe submissions are published publicly on the Site (see Section 4).

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, and requested pages to serve and secure the Site. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.

Payments. The Site does not take payments. Consumer online checkout is paused, and wholesale invoicing/payment is arranged directly, off the website.

2. How we use your information

• Answer questions and follow up on wholesale inquiries;
• Operate the reorder portal: show your store's account, process case reorders, and run standing-order schedules;
• Publish and feature Community Kitchen submissions;
• Operate, secure, and improve the Site;
• Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We only send emails related to your inquiry, order, or submission. We don't operate a marketing email list today; if that changes, marketing will be opt-in with an unsubscribe link.

3. How we share information — our service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site and the wholesale program, and only as needed:

• Cloudflare — hosts the Site and stores our wholesale and recipe data in its database service (Cloudflare D1);
• Resend — delivers the Site's email notifications (questions, wholesale inquiries, order confirmations) to us;
• CSC Innovations — the studio that builds and operates the Site for us. As part of keeping order notifications flowing, CSC's systems may retrieve pending order/inquiry notifications from the Site and relay them to us by email using Gmail (Google). CSC and Google act as processors for that delivery — your information is not used for anything else;
• Professional advisors or authorities where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

4. Community Kitchen submissions are public

Recipes submitted to the Community Kitchen are published on the Site for anyone to see, along with the first name you provide. An automatic language filter screens submissions, and we can hide or remove a published recipe at any time. Don't include personal details you wouldn't want public — and email us if you'd like a submission taken down.

5. Cookies & local storage

The Site does not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. Cloudflare may set strictly-necessary cookies for security and performance while serving the Site, and your browser may cache Site assets. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

6. Data retention

We keep inquiry and order information for as long as needed to respond, service your wholesale account, and meet our legal, tax, and accounting requirements, after which we delete or anonymize it. Published recipes stay on the Site until removed. Wholesale partners can ask us to close their account and delete its details at any time.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled storage — to protect your information. Reorder-portal access codes should be kept private by each store. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — including your wholesale account details or a published recipe — by emailing us. We will respond as required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state or country's privacy laws.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and business partners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Links to other sites

The Site may link to third-party websites (such as our social media or our retail partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — including if online ordering returns, which would add a payment processor. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be posted on this page.
